We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant General Manager / Director of Operations, the Food and Beverage Manager provide hands-on leadership and strategic direction for all front-of-house dining operations, including The Sun Café, Spike Bar Lounge, Founders Dining Room, Patio, and Concession. This role works closely with the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to ensure seamless seven-day operational coverage, exceptional member experience, and a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Service Management:
· Provide visible, active leadership during peak service periods to ensure member satisfaction and operational excellence.
· Supervise all front-of-house areas including The Sun Café, Lounge, Founders Room, Patio, and Concession.
· Foster collaboration between FOH and BOH teams, maintaining consistent quality, presentation, and service standards.
· Build strong relationships across departments to support a unified 'One Club' culture.
· Maintain all service areas in a state of readiness and ensure consistent adherence to Club standards.
· Develop strong working relationships with the Executive Chef to ensure food quality, menu consistency, and presentation standards are maintained.
· Oversee weekly food and beverage programming to enhance member engagement.
Training and Recruitment:
· Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and training of all FOH team members in collaboration with Human Resources and the Assistant F&B Manager.
· Develop and implement standardized steps of service and training programs for all FOH positions, ensuring consistency across outlets.
· Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to build a high-performing, guest-focused team.
· Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely, constructive feedback.
· Assess departmental competencies and identify opportunities for continued learning and succession planning.
Administrative:
· Prepare and review bi-weekly FOH schedules to balance service standards with labor budgets.
· Monitor and control beverage costs, inventory, and purchasing to meet financial targets.
· Oversee payroll accuracy, gratuity allocations, and compliance with internal policies.
· Support the AGM/DOO in developing and managing annual operating and capital budgets.
· Partner with the Assistant F&B Manager to design and maintain beverage menus and monthly wine features in collaboration with the Executive Chef and vendors.
· Maintain internal controls, ensure policy compliance, and produce necessary departmental reports.
· Identify and foster development plans for high-potential employees to ensure department sustainability.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in a high-volume, service-driven environment (private club experience preferred).
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
· Proven record of delivering exceptional member experiences and achieving financial goals.
· Advanced knowledge of wine and beverage service (WSET Level 2+ preferred).
· Proficiency in POS and club management systems (Jonas experience an asset).
· Valid ProServe and Food Safe certifications.
· Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
