Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Fitness Instructor to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering high quality fitness services that support the health, wellness, and athletic goals of our diverse membership. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to exceptional member service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-on-one personal training sessions (30, 60, or 90 minutes) tailored to individual client goals
- Facilitate small group training sessions (2–4 participants)
- Lead and instruct group fitness classes (availability considered an asset)
- Design, implement, and monitor personalized fitness programs, adjusting as needed based on client progress
- Conduct initial fitness assessments and ongoing evaluations
- Collect and maintain accurate client health information (e.g., PAR-Q+) in accordance with best practices
- Maintain punctuality and professionalism for all scheduled sessions
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with members, colleagues, and leadership
Qualifications
- Degree in Kinesiology or Diploma in Personal Fitness Training from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Current Personal Fitness Trainer (PFT) certification from a recognized organization
- Group Fitness certification and experience considered an asset
- Current First Aid and AED certification
- Successful completion of a Police Information Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening
