Job Summary
The Human Resource & Safety Coordinator will be responsible to enhance the organization by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices. An ideal candidate will have previous experience in this type of role and is willing to work with minimal supervision and guidance. Experience and knowledge of applicable provincial payroll and safety legislation is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities
 Maintain and update (as necessary) employee policies & procedures to ensure compliance with current legislation and best practices
 Develop and maintain job descriptions, pay schedules, and performance evaluations
 Prepare and distribute bi-monthly HR Newsletters
 Understand and provide information to employees regarding Employee assistance and benefit programs
 Assist in government grant reporting
 Maintain the Club’s Human Resource Information System and update documents as necessary
 Prepare, distribute, and analyze results of the annual Employee Satisfaction Survey
 Work with Department Heads to determine recruitment needs and campaigns
 Assist Departments with their Full Cycle Recruitment
 Onboard all new staff and ensure onboarding and training tasks are complete
 Manage and support the Employee Recognition Program Safety
 Manage the workplace training and safety programming
 Communicate with staff to determine interest in new programming options
 Chair the Club’s Safety Committee
 Ensure all new employees have completed their safety training through onboarding
 Communicate with Department Managers to update SDS information packets for Department safety binders (as required)
 Assist Department Managers with WCB reporting (as required)

Skills and Knowledge
 2-5 years of related experience
 CHRP Designation is an asset
 Minimum 1 year of recruiting experience
 Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance
 High attention to detail
 Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
 Previous exposure and or experience with workplace safety procedures
